Import Related Records

Choose Multiple record types when a spreadsheet contains a base contact or deal and related records, such as tasks or notes. The importer can use a Single file or Multiple files and link rows through an external ID.

Entry pointAdmin → Settings → Import/Export → Import

Who Can Do This

Users with import access can open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import. Ask your admin if the card is missing. Prepare the base and related files with a consistent external ID so Brixi can connect the right rows.

Choose Record Types and Files

  1. Select Multiple record types.
  2. Choose Contacts or Deals as the Base record type, then select the Related record types you want to create. Select Continue.
  3. On Add your files, choose Single file if one spreadsheet has the base and related columns. Choose Multiple files if each record type has its own file.
  4. Choose CSV or Excel. Use Combined CSV for a single-file sample or the separate sample CSV links for multiple files.
  5. Select each file and choose Upload and continue.

Map and Connect Rows

Under Map import fields, choose the destination record type and CRM field for each column. Map the required fields for every selected record type. Use Ignore field for columns you do not want to keep.

Under Connect records across files, choose what a row should attach to and select its Contact or Deal External ID column. Use the same ID for rows that belong together. This section can also link new related rows to a contact or deal already in Brixi. The link identifies the parent record; it does not overwrite the parent's details.

Select Preview 5 rows, resolve any mapping or value issues with Review and fix, then select Import records.

Check Import Status

Open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import History after queuing the import. Find it by its start time and check Status, Progress, Saved, and Failed. Use Why failed from its action menu to investigate rows that were not saved. See Review Import Results.
