Data Import

Use Import records to bring spreadsheet data into Brixi. The flow can create contacts, deals, and other CRM record types, or update existing contacts. You can create one record type or linked records from one or more files.

Entry pointAdmin → Settings → Import/Export → Import

Users with contact import access can open Import in Admin → Settings. You can also start a contact import from CRM → Contacts → Import. If the control is missing, ask an admin to check your import permission.

How the Import Works

  1. Under Record types, choose One record type or Multiple record types to create records. Select Update objects to update existing contacts.
  2. Under Files, choose CSV or Excel, download a sample CSV if useful, then upload your file or files.
  3. Under Map and import, map file columns to Brixi fields, set any constant values, and check the first five rows with Preview 5 rows. For updates, choose Match contacts by → Matching field.
  4. Resolve preview issues and select Import records or Update contacts. Brixi queues the work.
  5. Open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import History to see progress, saved rows, and failures.

Where to See Import Status

After Import records, Brixi confirms that the rows were queued. To see whether they finished, open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import History. Find the import by its start time and check Status, Progress, Saved, and Failed. Queued or Processing means it is still running; Completed means processing has finished. If Failed is above zero, open the import's action menu and choose Why failed. See Review Import Results for details.

Update objects currently updates contacts only. Connect records across files links related rows to an existing or imported contact or deal by external ID; linking alone does not change that contact or deal's fields. See Correct or Update Imported Records for the contact update steps.
