Import Deals
Use Import records to create deals from a spreadsheet. You can import deals alone or create them with contacts in a related-record import. Update objects currently applies to contacts, so edit an existing deal from its record page.
Entry pointAdmin → Settings → Import/Export → Import
Who Can Do This
Users with import access can open Import in Admin → Settings. If you cannot see it, ask your admin to check your permissions. You also need access to the deal fields and linked records you intend to use.
Prepare the File
Use CSV, XLS, or XLSX. On the Files step, select Deal CSV to download a sample with the current deal fields for your workspace. Include the fields marked required on the mapping screen. Check pipeline, stage, amount, date, owner, and linked contact values before uploading.
If deal rows need to connect to contacts, use Import Related Records. A standalone deal import also offers Connect records across files when you have a Contact external ID column; this links a new deal to an existing contact.
Import the Deals
- Open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import.
- Choose One record type, select Deals, and select Continue.
- Choose CSV (Comma Separated Values) or Excel (XLS/XLSX), add the file, and select Upload and continue.
- Under Map import fields, match each column to a deal field. Set Ignore field for columns you do not want to import. See Map Import Fields.
- If the same field value belongs on every deal, use Add constant. For example, you may apply one owner or another shared field when appropriate.
- Select Preview 5 rows. Use Review and fix for invalid values and preview again.
- Select Import records when no preview issues remain.
Check Import Status
The confirmation means your deals were queued, not necessarily saved yet. Open Admin → Settings → Import/Export → Import History, find the import by its start time, and check Status, Progress, Saved, and Failed. Use Why failed in the import's action menu if rows did not save. Once saved, open CRM → Deals and clear list filters to find the new records. See Review Import Results and Correct Failed Rows.
Common Issues
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| A required deal field is not mapped | Map the corresponding file column or provide a constant value. |
| Pipeline, stage, or linked contact fails validation | Choose a valid Brixi value in Review and fix, or correct the file and upload again. |
| A deal does not show in the list | Check Import History, the selected pipeline, list filters, and your visibility permissions. |
Contact Brixi support if the import reports a saved deal that is still absent after clearing filters and refreshing. Include the import time and deal name.
