Configure Contact Rules

The Contact → Config page sets account-wide behavior for incoming contact records and what regular users can edit or see. Your workspace may show a different word for Contact.

Entry pointAdmin → Settings → Contact → Config

Who Can Do This

Admins responsible for CRM configuration should change these rules. Review the effect on imports, contact creation, and agent workflows before saving.

Review Each Group

  1. Open Admin → Settings → Contact → Config.
  2. Under Defaults, set the name Brixi uses when an incoming contact has no usable name.
  3. Under Duplicates, choose what happens when a matching record is found. Decide whether to match by phone, email, or both, then review the options for adding an enquiry, reassigning the owner, restoring a deleted record, or resetting its stage.
  4. Under Editing restrictions, choose whether regular users can change names, phone numbers, sources, and enquiry details.
  5. Under Data protection, choose whether to mask phone numbers and email addresses or hide lead sources, then select the affected roles. Review the copy, paste, and screenshot controls.
  6. Select Save and confirm the success message. Ask an affected user to check a contact after refreshing.
