Sync WhatsApp Web with the Chrome Extension
Your sellers already chat with customers on WhatsApp — the problem is that none of it reaches the CRM. The Brixi Chrome extension fixes that: it runs alongside WhatsApp Web and syncs conversations and contacts into Brixi, so the chat a seller has at 9 PM shows up on the contact's timeline without anyone copy-pasting.

Unlike a linked business number, Web Sync needs no Meta Business Manager setup, no templates, and no webhook configuration. It works with the WhatsApp account already signed in on WhatsApp Web — including personal numbers your team uses for sales.
Who Can Do This
Any Brixi user can install the extension and sync their own WhatsApp Web session. The chats sync into the workspace under that user's account, so each seller installs and connects the extension themselves.
Before You Start
- Use Google Chrome (or a Chromium browser that supports Chrome extensions).
- Be signed in to WhatsApp Web at
web.whatsapp.comwith the phone number you want to sync. - Have your Brixi login ready — the extension asks you to sign in once to connect your workspace.
Install and Connect
- Install the Brixi WhatsApp Sync extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open web.whatsapp.com and make sure your WhatsApp is linked (scan the QR code from your phone if it isn't).
- Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and sign in with your Brixi account.
- Pick the workspace to sync into and confirm.
Once connected, the extension shows a sync indicator on WhatsApp Web and starts syncing new conversations.
What Syncs
| What | How it syncs |
|---|---|
| Conversations | New inbound and outbound messages sync to the matching Brixi contact's timeline. |
| Contacts | If the customer's number matches an existing contact, the chat links to it. Unknown numbers can be saved as new leads from the extension. |
| Your replies | Messages you send from WhatsApp Web are captured the same way — the timeline shows both sides. |
Matching is by phone number, so make sure contact numbers in Brixi include the country code. A number saved without it is the usual reason a synced chat creates a duplicate instead of landing on the existing contact.
What Web Sync Doesn't Do
Web Sync is capture, not automation. It won't send campaigns, trigger workflows, or let an AI agent reply — those need a linked WhatsApp Business number. And it only syncs while WhatsApp Web is open in Chrome with the extension active; chats held purely on the phone while the browser is closed sync the next time WhatsApp Web loads them.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Extension icon shows disconnected | Sign in to the extension again — your Brixi session may have expired. |
| Chats aren't appearing in Brixi | Confirm WhatsApp Web itself is connected (not the "phone offline" screen), and the extension shows the active sync indicator. |
| Chat synced to a duplicate contact | The saved contact number is missing the country code — fix the number, then merge the duplicate. |
| Synced messages stop after a Chrome update | Chrome sometimes disables extensions on update. Re-enable it under chrome://extensions. |
| Still stuck | See Getting Help — mention the extension version and whether the sync indicator was active. |
