Capture What Happened in the Field
Field work that isn't logged is field work nobody else can use. This page covers what to record — calls, notes, messages, emails, meetings, visit outcomes — and how to do it right after the interaction, while the details are still fresh, so agents and managers back at the office know what the customer said and what comes next.

What To Log
- Calls made before or after visits.
- Customer messages.
- Emails sent.
- Visit notes.
- Meeting outcomes.
- Requirement changes.
- Objections.
- Follow-up commitments.
- Deal movement signals.
Log Immediately
Log activity as soon as you can after the interaction. Wait until the end of the day and you'll forget details — or worse, mix up which customer said what.
Good Field Note Example
Customer visited the demo location. Interested in the premium package but needs pricing approval. Asked for revised quote and payment schedule by tomorrow.
The sales owner can act on this without calling you first.
Weak Field Note Example
Met client.
Nobody reading this knows the outcome or the next action.
Recommended Flow After Every Visit
- Open the visit or contact.
- Add outcome notes.
- Update enquiry details if requirements changed.
- Create a task for the next follow-up.
- Update deal stage if the opportunity progressed.
- Notify the owner or manager if urgent action is needed.
Common Issues
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Activity saved to wrong record | Open the correct contact and add a clarifying note. |
| Notes are too vague | Add customer intent, objection, and next step. |
| Follow-up is forgotten | Create a task immediately after logging activity. |
| Manager cannot see update | Confirm it saved and permissions allow manager visibility. |
If a logging action is missing — no note, call, or message option on a contact — or your manager can't see activity you've logged, check with your admin first. Both usually come down to role permissions or team visibility settings.
Contact Brixi support if logged activity saves successfully but later disappears, or shows against the wrong record when you're sure you logged it on the right one. Include the contact name, the activity type, and roughly when you logged it.
